Repairs Begin

I wrote earlier that the upholstery was being done. It hasn't been completed yet since the Holy Week and Easter holidays caught up but I was able to get all the 4 power window motors replaced.

In the interim I had intended to get the climate control done as well, and in the shop that was going to do it, I had the car's engine checked for possible overhaul.

Turns out the camshaft has nearly been worn down due to wear and tear brought by old age. The cylinder heads are intact, but needs some machine shop spotting, as does the idler gear and timing chains.

I canvassed at Delodur about camshafts, and the 1985, pre-hydraulic pipe version will cost about Php9,500 while the hydraulic pipe version is slightly cheaper at Php8,500.00

I'll be asking the mechanic for the exact chassis/engine number to verify with the supplier which type I need.

Meanwhile I was also able to canvass an avante-garde grille for the 190E costing about Php6,800.00. I'll take it asap.
